Valerie A. Rothlein, 80
Born May 19, 1937 to Russell I. Rothlein and Alice Hornich in Asbury Park, NJ. Valerie graduated from Irvington High School, Allegheny College (B.A.) and Monmouth College (M.A.). She worked for Lockheed in Watchung, NJ and then was employed many years as a Technical Editor at A.T. & T. in Holmdel, NJ prior to her retirement. She lived in Toms River and Basking Ridge in her retirement.
Valerie was very involved in her niece and nephews' lives throughout their childhoods and adulthoods. She attended all family events.
An avid golfer, she also loved Broadway shows, classical music and dabbled in art, piano, ukulele, boom-bas and documented the family geneology.
Predeceased by her parents, brother Russell Gilbert Rothlein and nephew Mark K. Rothlein, she is survived by her nephew Craig D. Rothlein and wife April of Stockton, N.J. and niece Deborah L. Bonney and husband Alton of Elkton, M.D., and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
There will not be a visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, N.J. Arrangements by Gray Memorial, Cranford. You may go to grayfuneralhomes.com for on line condolences.
