Steven Scott Mee

Steven Scott Mee, 53, of Delran, New Jersey, passed away on July 3rd, 2017 peacefully in his sleep.

Steve was born in Newark, New Jersey on July 22nd 1963. He graduated from Scotch Plains/Fanwood High School in 1981 and then attended Union County College.

Steve was married to Jennifer (Palumbo) Mee on October 4th, 1992. They were married 24 years.

Steve worked as a compliance director for Prudential insurance in Holmdel, New Jersey

Along with his wife Jennifer, he is survived by his parents Harry and Dolores Mee of Fanwood, New Jersey, His two children, Ryan Christopher and Alexandra Elizabeth, his sisters Karen Mee Turchin and Janet Mee Hetem, his nieces and nephews and the rest of his family.

More than anything, Steve enjoyed spending time with his children, going for long car rides, listening to music and watching sports both on TV and in person.

Prior to a severe injury, Steve was active in all sports including Skiing, Basketball, Softball and others with his family and friends. Steve heroically pushed through pain for many years to witness his own children carry on his passion for sports which he instilled in them.

Steve was a kind, soft-spoken person with a huge heart who made every stranger a friend and was generous with his time both to listen and to actively help others he encountered

Life celebration will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad Street, Westfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Friday July 7,2017 at Immaculate Heart Of Mary R. C. Church in Scotch Plains, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
