Sharon Kolbe

July 24, 1951 — January 26, 2022

Sharon Elizabeth Kolbe of Clark and Bayville, New Jersey, passed away on January 26, 2022 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. Sharon was born on July 24, 1951 to the late Ruth Martell Kolbe and C. Clayton Kolbe and raised in Cranford and Union, NJ.

Sharon graduated from Cranford High School, attended Union County Technical School and graduated from Kean College. She started her career of over 40 years in accounting at CR Bard in Murray Hill and from there Exxon and Infineum in Linden, NJ.
She was on the Board of Motion Federal Credit Union and the Exxon Annuitants Club. Sharon was also involved with the Friends of Island Beach State Park and supported many animal rescue groups. Sharon loved traveling. She enjoyed a safari in Africa, hiking down the Alps, soaking up the sun in the Caribbean, and cruising thru the glaciers of Alaska!

Sharon is survived by her sisters: Sandra Schroppe of Whiting, NJ, Susan Koller of Whiting, NJ, Sally Maulshagen and her husband Richard of Roselle, NJ; her loving nephews and nieces: Scott Schroppe, David Schroppe, John Schroppe, Carrie Decastro, Heather Maulshagen; 10 grand nieces and 3 grand nephews.

Sharon will be missed by her many friends, and her beloved Blackjack.

Visitation Monday February 7, 2022 from 10 am to 11 am at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. Funeral service will follow at 11 am at the funeral home, and burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.

Donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, NJ, Popcorn Park Zoo ResQ Fund in Forked River, NJ, or your favorite Animal Rescue Group.
