Sarah Russo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sarah Russo, on March 29, 2026.

Sarah was born on October 5, 1929, to Donato and Theresa Colabelli. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 60 years, John Russo; her brothers, Joseph and Gerald Colabelli; and her son-in-law, Ralph Penna.

She leaves behind her loving children: Joanna Britanak and her husband Joe, Maria Penna-Clark and her husband Ernie, and John Russo and his wife Cynthia. She was a proud and cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Sarah embraced life fully and remained active in her many interests up until her final days. She found joy in gardening, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with friends over games of bridge and canasta. Above all, she treasured being surrounded by her family—especially the younger generations, who brought her endless happiness.

Her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will live on through the traditions and memories she created, which will continue to be passed down for generations.

Sarah will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
