Ruth (Bershonsky) Wallad. 92, passed away June 1, 2015 at the Veteran's Memorial Home in Menlo Park, NJ. Ruth was born in Romania and arrived with her mother and two sisters in the U.S. in 1926. She was raised in Newark, NJ and graduated from Southside High School. She lived for many years in Newark and Maplewood and moved to Union, NJ in 2004 before living at the Veteran's Memorial Home in October 2014.
Ruth was a homemaker and loving mother of her two sons, Marty and Aron. She is predeceased by her treasured husband of 65 years, Bob, devoted son Aron, and her dear sister Edie. Ruth is survived by her cherished sister Sylvia, dedicated son Marty and his wife Linda; her dearest daughter–in-law Cheryl; her dear grandchildren Alex, Sean and his wife Heather, Ben and his fiancée Carrie, Samantha and her partner Michael; and her beloved great-grandchildren Aidan and Mason.
A life celebration gathering will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11 am at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue in Cranford. Burial will be private at the Brig. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery to be with her husband Robert Wallad. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Caring Hospice Services, 1090 King Georges Post Road, Suite 703, Edison, NJ 0883.
