Roland Edwin Engelke

Roland E. Engelke, 82, of Scotch Plains, died suddenly at his residence on Sunday March 18, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Fred and Frances (Whunch) Engelke. he is survived by his brother:
Warren R. Engelke of Westfield. A longtime resident of Westfield,
Roland graduated from Westfield High School in 1953. He later graduated from Franklin and Marshal
University, Lancaster, PA, where he also received his Master's degree. Roland was a marketing manager
for several companies, including US Steel Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA. He was also a veteran of the US
Army serving in Germany. Roland was a longtime member of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield.
He also volunteered as a Travelers Aide with Newark Liberty International Airport. Roland was a member of
the Scotch Plains Golden Age Club, and the Mountainside Active Retirees group.
Roland's Graveside service and burial will be at 10:30AM Tuesday March 20, 2018, at Fairview Cemetery,
Westfield, NJ. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Directors, Westfield.
