Peter Barkley

Peter Barkley, 90, of Westfield, died Monday October 14, 2013. Peter's Life Celebration will be Thursday October 17th from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, where his funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Friday October 18, 2013. Interment will follow in Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. Born in Hamilton, NY, Peter was raised in Newark, NJ, where he graduated from Eastside High School, Newark, in 1941. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II. Mr. Barkley was retired from the Jacobson Manufacturing Co., Kenilworth, where he was a mechanical engineer and designer. He was a past Master of the Loyalty Lodge #33 F&AM Masonic, Union, and a member of the Atlas Pythagoras Lodge #10 F&AM Masonic, Westfield, the American Legion Post #328, Clark, and the VFW Post #7363, Clark. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Emma, and his cherished granddaughter: Michelle Lynn Barkley. Peter is survived by his son: Peter A. Barkley, his daughter: Donna Barkley Gorringe and husband Timothy, granddaughter: Andrea Faye Glasgow and husband Donald, and three great grandchildren: Hailey, Joshua, and Mandy.
