Othmar Wittreich, 89, of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Othmar's Life Celebration will be on Friday April 8th, from 5:00-9:00PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10AM Saturday April 9, 2016 at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 1600 Rahway Ave. at Lambertsmill Rd., Westfield. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Go to www.grayfuneralhomes.com to view his life tribute. Born in Gottschee, Slovenia, Othmar came to the US in the 1950s. He was retired in 1988 from the Monsanto Corporation, Kenilworth, where he was a set-up mechanic for over 25 years. He was a fan of professional wrestling and international soccer. A member of the Deutscher Club in Clark, Othmar enjoyed dancing and travel. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria and brother Franz. Othmar is beloved father of Helene Maria O'Neil (Steve) and Othmar J. Wittreich. He is also survived by his dear companion Maria Klein.
