Mildred E. Nary passed away on Monday at the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown NJ. Born in Elizabeth, she lived most of her life in Cranford. She was 95 years of age.
A Life Celebration and visitation will be on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church Of Cranford, 11 Springfield Avenue. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Linden.
Mrs. Nary, volunteered in the USO during World War II. She was a secretary with Standard Oil in Elizabeth, and worked as a teacher's aide in the Cranford school system after becoming a mother.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford for over 50 years, where she served as elder and deacon and lovingly administered the Church's Cradle Roll for births and baptisms. . She was married to her husband Ralph for 55 years before his passing in 2002. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Cranford for 58 years, and had passions for photography and gardening.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas Nary and his wife Dorothy, William Nary and his wife Christine, and grandchildren Samuel, Laura, John and Kate.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to The First Presbyterian Church, 11 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016.
