Melvin Mckinney

April 6, 1924 — November 30, 2005

Mr. Melvin McKinney age 81 of Cranford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at The Masonic Home in Burlington, NJ.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky and resided in Jersey City before moving to Cranford in 1969.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.
He worked as an inspector at Air Reduction in Union for 31 years retiring in 1978.
He was a Past Master of Secaucus Hudson Lodge F. & AM Number 72 and a member of the Scotish Rite.
He is survived by his wife Hettie (Whisman)McKinney whom he married in 1949. He is also survived by two brothers, Billy and Kenneth McKinney. He will also be deeply missed by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday evening from 7-9 pm and also on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Gray Memorial Funeral Home 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. A Masonic service will be held on Saturday evening at 8 pm in the funeral home. Thence, on Tuesday a visitation will be held from 7-9 pm in the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington Kentucky. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005 at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by interment in Winchester Cemetery, Lexington, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Masonic Home, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
