Margaret Mary Duffy

Margaret Duffy, 72, of Verona, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Helen's Church in Westfield, NJ, on Saturday, December 15th at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial service at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ. Arrangements by Gray's Life Celebration of Westfield (www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences). Margaret was employed for twenty-two years as a patient service representative in the Cardiology Department of Summit Medical Group in Berkeley Heights, NJ. She is survived by her beloved family, the seven children of Joseph C. Glavin, Jr. and Margaret J. Carey, to whom she was a second mother figure and caring friend, including: Joseph Glavin III, Megan Glavin, Kathleen Day, Elizabeth Laskaris, Dennis Glavin, Jennifer Wall, and Robert Glavin. Margaret will also be remembered as a special "Grandma" to their children. Miss Duffy will always be cherished and loved by June Mahoney, Greg Dillon, Evie Dillon Reed and family, as well as the many devoted and caring friends who worked with her at Summit Medical Group. The cardiology family at Summit became an extended family to "Duffy" or "Meg", as many came to call her. Margaret will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers it is kindly requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
