Madeline Roeben Madeline (Maddy) Roeben, 86, passed away on December 4th at The Center for Hope in Scotch Plains. Madeline's Life Celebration will be Monday, December 10th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Gray Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue Cranford, where her funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Tuesday, December 12, 2012. Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Raised in Germany, she moved to Westfield with her husband, William Roeben. Maddy and Bill celebrated 66 years together. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother to three, grandmother to five, and great-grandmother to two. Maddy was a pediatric nurse at Rahway Hospital for over 15 years. After she retired, she worked at the Westfield TOPS program and remained employed there until 2012. She was a member of the Deutsche Club in Clark and the Westfield Women's Club. She also knitted for The Seamen's Institute. Maddy loved bowling in various bowling leagues, camping at her trailer in PA, traveling, playing cards, collecting photographs of her family and watching the New York Mets. Madeline is predeceased by her father Otto Rieger, her mother Hattie Jepson, and her stepfather, Martin Jepson. She is survived by her husband, William Roeben, her brother Martin Jepson, her sister Elaine Young, her son Gary Roeben, her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Walter Felegi, daughter Susan Blejwas; her grandchildren, Gary and Lauren Roeben, Emily and Benjamin Meyers, William and Amanda Felegi, Daniel and Cortney Blejwas and Catherine Felegi; and her two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Brynn Blejwas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
