Lila Marion Rose, 85, (nee Graebner) Mountainside, NJ passed away on September 1, 2013, in Brighton Gardens of Mountainside Assisted Living Residence. Born in Milwaukee, WI, she was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Madison. A former resident of Gibbsboro, Berlin and eventually Southampton, NJ, Lila was the first librarian of the Gibbsboro, NJ Elementary School, establishing the library upon the school expansion in the early 1960's. After her retirement, she volunteered her services for the Marie Fleche Memorial Library in Berlin and other charitable organizations. She was also an accomplished artist and seamstress, She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Rose and devoted mother of the late David B. Rose. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marvel Graebner, and brother, John Graebner. She is survived by her daughter Melinda Rose Textor and husband, James Textor, of Westfield, NJ, nieces Melissa Graebner Young, Selene Lofquist and Michelle Rose, nephew Jason Rose, brother-in law William Rose and wife, Lois, of Moorestown, NJ and sister-in-law Janet Graebner of Wausau, WI. Lila's Life Celebration will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday September 14, 2013, at Gray Funeral Directors, A Life Celebration Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ where her Service of Remembrance will follow at 12 Noon Saturday."
