Kathleen Jane Patterson

Kathleen "Kathy" J. Patterson (Karlovitch), 74 years old, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her home in Arrowhead Lakes, Mount Pocono.
Kathy was born in November of 1942 to Virginia and Kenneth Patterson. The oldest of 3 sisters and a brother; Diane Patterson, Lee Masiello (and husband Bob), and Kenneth Patterson, Jr. The daughter of an Air Force Drill Instructor, Kathy and her family moved around in her younger years until they settled in her childhood home of Lyndhurst, NJ.
Known for her beautiful smile, warm heart and generous soul, Kathy loved her family and friends deeply. Those who love and know her can recall many an afternoon enjoying her laugh and conversation with a warm cup of tea. Memories of her will live on through her beautiful ceramic pieces, made with hours of love and thought for their recipient. Anywhere from adorable bunnies at Easter to stunning nativity sets at Christmas, her deep love for her family and friends was poured into each wonderful gift she made. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of all who met her.
After graduating from Lyndhurst High School she went on to marry John Karlovitch and raised her 4 beloved children John (Jay), Linda, Glen and Jeffery Karlovitch in Kenilworth, NJ. A member of Nomahegan Swim Club, Kathy enjoyed summers with her kids by the pool and vacations with her sister and family at the Jersey shore. Kathy worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for Prudential at their former location in South Plainfield, NJ where she retired. Following her retirement, Kathy moved to her home in Arrowhead Lakes with her partner, Robert Poyner, where she loved to go on walks by the lake with her dog, made the most incredible blueberry and strawberry jellies from the bushes outside her home and enjoyed the peace of the mountains.

Grandmother to 9: Jessie Lynn, Terri, Emily and Kelly Karlovitch, Sara & Matthew Karlovitch, Abigayle & Cameryn Karlovitch and Angelina Calello.
Immediate family: Step-Mother Audrey Patterson, sisters Diane Patterson, Lee Masiello and husband Bob, and brothers Kenneth Patterson, Jr., James Patterson and wife, Stephanie.
And many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and God-children.
Visitation information for friends and family of Kathy Patterson: The viewing will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Gray's Memorial Funeral home located at 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 5th at Gray's Memorial Funeral Home with intermittent immediately following at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, NJ.
