Karen Gustavsen

Karen Gustavsen, 69, long time Cranford, NJ resident died Sunday, March 29th. Karen is survived by her children Kevin, Michaele, Michael, and Lauren, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her older sister Judi and younger brother Russell, as well two nieces (Gina and Lisa), two grandnieces, a grandnephew, and many cousins who loved her.

Karen was a very colorful human being. She had ups and downs, but she always loved laughing and joking; it is her laugh that stays with us the most now. Her infectious smile could make anyone smile with her. She loved to talk. If you knew her, you have no doubt listened to her talk widely and lengthily about any subject. Karen was bold in her opinions and bold in expressing them.

Karen was a devoted Christian over her life. She loved going to church. She valued being a member of a religious community and being of service to the people of her church. It brought her great joy to help other people.

There will not be a traditional memorial service at this time due to current circumstances however, there will be a Celebration of Life Memorial in the future.

From Karen's family: May you find peace across the veil, may Heaven welcome you and bless you. We are so sad that we could not hold your hand as you passed from this life. You are so brave. We are so sad that we cannot be there to send you off with a proper funeral in this now time. Know that you are loved beyond measure and your presence in our lives has touched us and remains with us even as you leave us. We love you.
