Kali Patel

Kali Elizabeth Patel (nee Brown), 45 of Westfield, NJ passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on February 15, 2024.  Kali was the beloved wife of 12 years to Annoj Patel, and a devoted mother to her two sons: Ryan and Ayden.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Newark, NJ; she was the only child and cherished daughter of Laverna and Clyde Brown (deceased). Kali also leaves behind loving and supportive in-laws Dilip, Saroj and Dahesh Patel. Kali’s family ties were strong and deep, she grew up with a very close extended family of first cousins, many who were more like sisters than cousins. Always a great student, Kali excelled academically at Science High School in Newark where she graduated in 1996, and went on to attend Devry University where in 2000 she met her future husband, Annoj. At Devry she earned an Associate’s degree in Computer Information Science (2001) and Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Management (2003).  She had a long and vibrant career at Vonage as an Operational Analysis Manager. 

 Kali’s passion for education, which began with her mother Laverna,  carried through to her two boys Ryan and Ayden, both excellent students with an undying thirst for knowledge. Ryan and Ayden were Kali’s pride and joy, and what she loved most was to spend time with them.  She also loved to skate, travel and hang out with family.  Kali was one of the kindest people you would ever meet, her bright smile and infectious laugh could light up a room! She valiantly fought a battle with cancer and was a fierce advocate for her health until the very end. She will forever be missed and cherished by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
