Juan Garcia formerly of Kearny, recently of Union, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at home. He was born on July 10, 1944 in Malaga, Spain. Juan was preceded in death by his by his loving wife, Esther Mercedes (nee Careterro), and by his parents Rafael and Rosario. He is survived by his daughter Veronica Doyle (nee Garcia), husband Mark A. Doyle, grandchildren Emily Esther, Mark Rafael, Patrick David; son Cristian Garcia Careterro; brother Jose and Lucia; brother Francisco and Mari Angles; sister Carmen and Pera; sister Rosario and Juan; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He served in Spain's Army of the Land/Ground Forces. After living in the US for over 30 years, he proudly became a US Citizen in 2008.
He was a retired member of Laborers' Union 472 of Newark, NJ, where he worked for many years throughout the Tri-State area, most notably at the NJPAC and Newark Liberty International Airport.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 2 to 4PM and 7 to 9PM Sunday at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue in Cranford, NJ.
