Joseph DeMarco, born March 1, 1927 passed away on May 6, 2016 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey after a short illness. .Born in Brooklyn, New York he grew up in Staten Island, New York relocating to Elizabeth New Jersey in1966. He resided in several communities in New Jersey. His last residence was located in Clark, NJ.
He attended McKee High School located in Staten Island, New York. Joseph was a skilled chemical operator working for several large companies located throughout New York and New Jersey. His last employer was Eco Labs, from where he retired in 1989.
Over the years he enjoyed watching his favorite baseball team the New York Yankee's. He also took pleasure in occasional trips to Atlantic City. His most memorable experience was a trip he took to Rome and Jerusalem to visit the Holy Land with his late wife Frances.
Joseph is predeceased by his wife Frances (nee Jordan) DeMarco to whom he was married to for almost 65 years; she passed away in May of 2013. He is survived by his children Anita Tanner, Delores Randazzo, Joseph DeMarco Jr., Philip DeMarco, Joyce Fleming, Michael DeMarco and Christopher DeMarco. Along with his children he is also survived by his son in laws John Randazzo and Sam Fleming and his daughter in law Kathy DeMarco. He had 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Joseph's life celebration will be Monday May 9th from 2-4 and 7-9PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 12 Springfield Ave, Cranford, NJ,. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30AM Tuesday May 10, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40 Alden St., Cranford, NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
