John J. Hartmann Jr. "Jay" 64, passed on September 9, 2017.
Jay's Life Celebration and visitation will be held at Gray Memorial Funeral Home at 12 Springfield Avenue , Cranford, NJ on Tuesday September 12th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 2, 1953 to parents Mary and John Hartmann. He graduated St. Steven's High School. A veteran of the New York Fire Department, he was injured in the line of duty and retired. He went on to work at FedEx, Johnson and Johnson and IBM in various roles in IT Services.
Jay is survived by his wife Mary Anne Trovato, sister Melissa and husband Victor Trindade and brother Thomas and Leah Hartmann and children Luke and wife Angela, Shane and Dylan Hartmann and Laurel Miller and husband Daniel. He also cherished his cousins, nieces, nephews, Central Avenue neighbors and friends, especially his lifelong best friend Kenneth Arbeeny, Esq. and all his golf buddies at Shore View Golf Club.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations in Jay's name to The Sean Hanna Foundation for Pediatric Cancer or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
