John J. Buraczynski

John J. Buracynski died on February 21, 2018 in at the age of 72.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, son, Stephen, daughter-in-law, Lisa, daughter, Stacey, son-in-law, Michael, and 5 grandsons, Ryan, Dylan, Brandon, Andrew, and Matthew of Cranford, NJ and Easton, CT.
John was born on May 11, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to John J. Buraczynski Sr. and Edith Swenson. He graduated from Brookyln Technical High School in 1963 and Pratt with a BS degree in Construction Management in 1976. He married Doris DeVito, in 1971. John began working for Parsons Brinckerhoff in 1974 and retired in 2017. He was a certified professional electrical engineer who worked on bridges and tunnels, including the Fort McHenry Tunnel, Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, and some international bridges in Egypt and tunnels such as the Chunnel.
A life celebration will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford. Funeral service will be on Monday at the chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or any cancer research program
