James Gemmell Thomson

James G. Thomson of Scotch Plains, NJ passed away on Oct. 20, 2019 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. James was preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Pierson) Thomson and survived by three daughters, Wendy S. Thomson of Meriden, CT., Jennifer L. Thomson of Linden, NJ., Tracey S. Thomson of Forked River, NJ., and a son in law Michael Novak of Meriden, CT. James was born & raised, and spent most of his life in Westfield, NJ. He attended Westfield High School and was the captain of the Basketball team. He served in the Korean War as a head sergeant in the Army. He worked his whole career for Mobil Oil Corporation in New York City and Fairfax, VA. Graveside services will begin at 11:00AM Thursday October 24, 2019, at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
