Isabelle Hamilton, 93, formerly of Cranford, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 8 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Mountainside. Funeral services will be held on Thurs., July 11 at 10 am from United Methodist Church on Walnut Ave., Cranford. Visiting and life celebration will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford on Wed., July 10. Go to grayfuneralhomes.com for on line condolences. Isabelle was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ. She attended Battin H.S. and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Elizabeth General Hospital School of Nursing. She attended the University Hospital of Cleveland to become a Nurse Anesthetist. She worked many years in Elizabeth General Hospital and Alexian Brothers Hospital. After her retirement in 1972, Isabelle loved to travel. She went many places including Russia, Morocco, Ireland, the UK, and Switzerland. She also traveled throughout the US. Her most recent and memorable trip was to Antigua with her family. Isabelle was very active with the Ladies Guild at the United Methodist Cranford Church, and was recently made an honorary member of the Village Improvement Assoc. of Cranford. She was also active at the Kenilworth AARP and St. Anthony's Seniors in Elizabeth, Thursday Seniors in Cranford, and was president and treasurer for the Alumni Assoc. for Eliz. Gen'l Hospital. Isabelle was pre-deceased by her husband, Alvin J. Hamilton, an Elizabeth Fireman. She is survived by her devoted daughter Elaine Hamilton from Cranford, her loving son Brian and cherished daughter-in-law Judy from Basking Ridge, NJ. Her loving grandchildren Amy, Cindy and Brian will continue her adventurous legacy of travel and her fun-filled spirit of life.
