Inez V. Iwanyshyn, 96, of Mountainside, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Center
for Hope Hospice, Peggy's House in Scotch Plains, surrounded by her family. She was born
September 29, 1921 to parents Ingeborg (Olsen) and Johannes Mathisen. She was a long time
resident of Cranford before moving to Mountainside in 1974.
Inez is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, John Iwanyshyn. She is also survived
by their three daughters, Karyl-Lynn Miller, Janice Bernhard, and Nancy Pastore and her
husband David, as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Inez and John were active members of the Mountainside Seniors. They spent many years
square dancing and traveling throughout the United States and to numerous countries. Inez, also
called "Sweetie" by family, will always be remembered for her generous love and her zest for
life. She was truly a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be
greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 4:00 pm at
Calvary Lutheran Church, 108 Eastman Street, Cranford, NJ 07016.
