Helen Katherine Grayce (nee Frey), age 99, of Cranford, died on Saturday September 13, 2014, at her residence.
She was a resident of Cranford since 1937, and would have been 100 yrs. old this coming December 22nd.
Born in Roselle Park, the oldest of four children, to Frederick and Bertha Vollmer Frey.
Helen was a graduate of Roselle Park High School, Class of 1932.
During World War II, she worked for Weston Electronics, which assembled parts for military airplanes used in the war effort.
She later worked as a sales clerk for various local dress shops. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Harold Grayce who died in 1994. They were married in July 1936.
Helen loved music, and enjoyed playing the piano and singing with the Side by Siders and Senior Choruses.
Helen was an avid golfer, and loved playing at the Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth.
A great Pinochle player, Helen was a founding member of the Cranford Wednesday Seniors group, and loved attending activities there.
Helen is survived by her son: Gerald E. Grayce, nephews: Keith and Karl Frey, and other nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held a later date. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Directors, Cranford.
