H. Reed Myers

September 19, 1923 — December 21, 2021

Myers, H. Reed: On December 28, 2021, Reed ceased his travels on this earth and was raised to eternal rest. Born on September 19, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois to Harvey H. and Gladys B. Myers, he served our country in the Army, and, when discharged, worked for Western Electric Co. for 38.5 years. In 1946, he was raised a Master Mason, becoming Worshipful Master of Azure Lodge #129 (now Azure-Masada #22) in 1980, and being appointed to the Grand Staff of M.W. Herbert N. Boyd in 1981 as Jr. Grand Deacon. In 1950, he married his first wife, Muriel E. Planck. After retirement, Muriel (who predeceased him in 1983) and he traveled to Scotland and various islands in the Caribbean. In 1991, love again visited him and he married Anna Coleman Wood, moving to Fairhope, Alabama, where he had lived during the Great Depression. In addition to his loving wife, Anna, he is survived by his son, David, his daughter-in-law, Susan (Cooper), both of Monterey, MA, Anna's children, G.R. "Trey" Wood III (Lisa), Henry Coleman Wood, Louis Edward Wood (Ellen) and Camilla Adele Wood, as well as grandchildren S Miriam Cooper Myers, Jason B. Wood, Claire W. Kolb and Katherine (Katie) Wood. Arrangements will be made with Gray's Funeral Home in Cranford, and a service date for Masonic Services will be announced later; in addition, a Celebration of Life will be held in Fairhope, AL at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the New Jersey Masonic Charity Foundation.
