Gladys Bordonaro (nee Hoybo) passed away peacefully at age 89 on Wednesday May 8 in the Hospice for Hope facility in Elizabethtown, NJ.
A life long resident of Hudson County, she attended Union Hill High School and married Anthony Bordonaro of Union City, a Navy veteran of World War II.
She is survived by two children, Gayle Ciborowski and Gary Bordonaro and daughter-in-law Andrea Fiore-Bordonaro. Also surviving are three grandchildren Lisa Bordonaro-Giroud and Steven and Matthew Bordonaro and 2 great-grandchildren Cadence and Henry Giroud .
Loving sister to Linda Ruch of Ridgefield Park and aunt to Kirsten Ruch of Manhattan and Daniel and Charley Ruch of Virginia.
After moving to Cranford in the 1980's, she met Lyman (Sandy) Thompson of Rochelle Park and shared many happy years.
Gladys was an avid fan of ballroom dancing, teaching aerobics and enjoying life and family.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Her life celebration will be on Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford. Funeral services 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
