Gail Anna Lewis

      In Loving Memory of Gail Lewis (Nee Lehmann) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gail, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Gail peacefully departed this world at her residence in West Orange, New Jersey, on August 5, 2023.

      Gail was born in New York, NY on September 6, 1945, she and her sister, Barbara (Bartlette) were raised in Cranford and though her journey through life led her to various places, she remained connected to her roots. She spent the majority of her family years in Iselin where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. As time moved forward, Gail's golden years were spent in the welcoming communities of Nutley and West Orange, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her.

       Gail's legacy lives on through her loving children Chris, Elizabeth, and Shawn, along with their partners Kasey, William, and Lauren, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her presence also enriched the lives of her four adoring grandchildren, Abby, Zoe, Alivia and Dominic, who brought endless joy to her later years. Gail's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she became a second mother to her nieces and nephews, providing unwavering support and guidance during their times of need, especially following the untimely passing of her sister, Barbara.

       Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during Gail’s Visitation from 4:00-8:00PM Thursday August 10, 2023 at Gray Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave. Cranford, NJ, where her prayer service will begin at 7PM Thursday, with Rev. Rita Baker, chaplain, officiating.  This will provide an opportunity to honor Gail's life and reflect upon the blessings she brought to all who knew her and close with prayer. All are encouraged to say a few words in remembrance. While we gather to remember and celebrate Gail's life, please note that a memorial service and interment will be held at a later date, allowing us to honor her memory in a more intimate setting.        Gail's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. May she find eternal peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the cherished moments shared together.
