Frances Dolores Gerckens

Frances Dolores Gerckens (nee Caramico), 81, of Westfield, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. Frances' Life Celebration will be on Tuesday (today) February 21st from 4:00-7:00PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield. Please go to: www.grayfuneralhomes.com to view her life tribute. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10AM Wednesday February 22, 2017 at The Church of St. Anne, 325 Second Ave, Garwood. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Frances was a graduate of Fort Hamilton High School. At the age of 15, she met her future husband, William Gerckens. They were later married on May 29, 1955. Together they raised four boys, moving to Westfield in 1972. Frances was a devoted member of St. Anne's Church for many years, and was a member of the Rosary Society. She loved to be with her family, and adored her grandchildren. Cooking for her family and friends was her passion. Frances was predeceased by her husband William, two brothers: Sylvester, and Raymond, and sister: Dolores. She is survived by her four sons: Ronald, and his wife Cindy, Michael and his wife Anna, Karl and his wife Lynn, Eric and his wife Maria, 12 grandchildren: Adam, Jennifer, Joshua, Travis, Melissa, Gerhardt, Christopher, Max, Ashley, Maria, Kurt, and Nicole.
