Esther Emery

Esther Emery went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2019 at the age of 99.

Born in Scranton Pa. on September 18, 1920 to the late Simon and Rose Matweyiw, she resided in Westfield for over 60 years. She was a long-time member of Evangel Church in Scotch Plains and worked at Hahne and Company for many years.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Emery and her son, Carl Emery, her granddaughter Tracy Emery and her siblings, Paul, Rachel and David.

Esther is survived by her sister, Veronica and her loving sons, Rodney C and Donald B Emery and their families.

Also surviving her are 5 adoring grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who will sadly miss her as they cherish their many memories. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews as well as many close friends.

A Celebration of Esther's life will be held at 12 pm, on Friday, November 1, at Evangel Church, 1251 Terrill Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 with Pastor Kevin Brennan and Pastor Chris Morante officiating. At the family's request, burial will be private. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Home, Westfield.
