Elsie S. Giegerich

Elsie Giegerich passed away December 24, 2013 in Naperville, IL at the age of 88. Born in Elizabeth , NJ to Inger and Sigurd Schou, originally of Denmark, Elsie attended school in Elizabeth and married Wilbert J. Giegerich in 1950 who pre-deceased Elsie in 2005. She was a long time resident of Cranford NJ. Elsie graduated from Douglass College and earned her Masters Degree from Rutgers University. She worked at Bell Labs before becoming a Professor of Math and Computer Science at Kean University in Union, NJ. She was a member of the Danish Sisterhood of America and Vasa Order of America. Elsie leaves her two sons Donald B. (wife Carol) and Peter S.; her sister Marion Jensen, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and three nephews. Visitation will be held at Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford NJ on Thursday Jan. 2nd, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00PM. with services in the Chapel of St. Giles at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, NJ on Friday Jan.3, 2014 at 10:30 am, with interment to follow. Memorials to Alzheimer's Foundation of America (alzfdn.org) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
