Ellen A. Lowell

Ellen A. Lowell, a 60 year resident of Cranford N.J. died peacefully on August 27, 2013 after a brief illness. Ellen was born in New York City on Sept. 6, 1926 daughter of Nellie and James Mahoney. As the eldest of 5, she was the pillar of her family when her dad became ill at an early age. Ellen worked briefly at Squibb before marrying her beloved husband Warren who passed away in 1999. Ellen was a devoted wife, loving mother and sister and a kind, caring and generous person to all who know her. She cherished her time with family, friends, and neighbors and found a special joy in children. As hobbies, Ellen especially enjoyed her sewing group and had a passion for gardening which she and her husband Warren shared. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved son James, her loving sisters, Veronica and Virginia Mahoney, her treasured granddaughter Thea, and many special and close friends. She will live on in our hearts. A memorial mass will be held at St. Michaels Church in Cranford, NJ on Saturday, Sept 14th at 10:30 AM.
