Ella B. Maier

Ella B. Maier, of Doylestown PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at the age of 85 following a brief illness. Ella was born June 17, 1928 in Irvington NJ and grew up in Union NJ graduating from Union High School in 1946. She was the daughter of Laurie and Berenice Ripley and was the youngest of 3 children. Her brother Lawrence "Bud" Ripley and sister Joyce Hoffman preceded her in death. She married Paul Maier on September 4, 1948 who passed on June 5 of 1992. She lived in Cranford NJ from 1955 until moving to Bucks County PA in 1987. Ella was active in The Cranford Dramatic Club and the PTA. She worked for Registrar and Transfer in Cranford and National Tool in Kenilworth before retiring to Pennsylvania with her husband Paul. Ella is survived by her four children, three sons: Craig Maier, Alan Maier and Scott Maier and one daughter, Laurie Jackson and six Grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday June 4, 2014, at Hollywood Memorial Park and Cemetery in Union NJ. Donations to The American Cancer Society or The American Heart Association are requested In lieu flowers. Local arrangements are by Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford NJ.
