A private internment ceremony will occur at a later date at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Huntington NY. Born in Huntington, NY to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Hughes) Turin on September 19, 1924. She was raised in Watervleet, NY until the age of 12 when her family moved to Brooklyn. She graduated from Girls Commercial High and worked at Schrader Valve Company where she was a drill press operator and solderer. She met her sweetheart, Robert Michael Studgeon, while working at Shrader and they were married May 18, 1946. They later moved to Nesconset NY to raise a family. Betty, as she was affectionately known, was a homemaker. She re-entered the workforce when her daughter entered kindergarten. She worked in the Smithtown School system for many years and retired as a laboratory aide for the high school science department. She took pride in her work but what mattered most to her were her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend who generously provided love, support and laughter to all who were blessed to know her. She adored her siblings, children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She had the best of friends all throughout her life and cherished each of them. Betty enjoyed life and lived each day with gratitude. She was strong in her faith and was an example of grace on this Earth. Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband Robert, her brother James Dempsey, and her sister Edith Byrne. Her beloved brother John Turin died June 27, 2012. She is survived by her daughter MaryElizabeth and her husband Robert, her three grandchildren Robert Napor, Michelle Napor, and John Napor all of Short Hills NJ. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Rosemarie Turin of Jackson NJ. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in honor of Elizabeth P.
