EDWARD PAUL SMITH Jr. Edward Paul Smith Jr., 83, of Roselle Park, died Friday October 11, 2013, in Newton Medical Center. Edward's Life Celebration will be Monday October 14th, from 4:00-9:00PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 12 Springfield Ave. Cranford (go to www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences), where the funeral service will begin at 8:30AM Tuesday October 15, 2013, followed by the celebration of his funeral mass at 9:30AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Cranford. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Born in Newark, Edward was raised in Cuddebackville, NY.and later moved to Roselle Park, where he resided for more than 50 years. Edward was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Army Infantry. He was a longtime member of the Local 475 Steamfitters Union, Warren, NJ, having worked in the field since the age of 16. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #60, Roselle Park. He is survived by his beloved wife: Pauline, son: Edward Diaz and wife Vanessa, son: Robert Roman and wife Norma, son: Anthony "Tony" Smith, daughter: Dolores Caraballo, son: Edward P. Smith III and wife Grace, daughter: Patricia Barra, daughter: Michelle Loutas and husband John, 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
