Dorothy E. Smith (Galli), 88, of Westfield, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020.
A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 125 Elmer Street in Westfield, N.J., on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00pm.
She was born to the late Rebello and Lena May Galli, November 1, 1931. Dorothy received a BA in Political Science from Brown University in 1953. She married Robert J. Smith in 1954, and they lived together in Westfield, N.J. After graduating from Brown University, she served many years as a Social Worker for the YWCA. Dorothy was a loving mother and Homemaker to her two children. Dorothy was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Westfield, and enjoyed attending the Community Players and The Metropolitan Opera.
Dorothy, is pre-deceased by her husband, Robert J. Smith of 62 years. Surviving are her two children: Robert Smith and his wife Pamela, of Novato, California, and Laura Scaturo and her husband Chuck, of Cranford, New Jersey. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Griffin, Bennett, Macallan, Brett, Greg and Hannah.
