Dorothea Grace Traynor Nelson

Dorothea Grace Traynor Nelson, 87, of Whiting, Ocean County, NJ, died January 31, 2015, in Crestwood Manor in Whiting. Born on February 24, 1927, in Westfield to the late John Henry and Adelaide Veronica O'Connor Traynor. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School, Westfield, Class of 1944, and the Berkeley School for Secretaries. She was employed for 26 years, with National Life Insurance Co. of Vermont, and the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. She also assisted in managing her late husband, Dr. Francis B. Nelson's Medical office. Dorothea and Dr. Nelson married on June 27, 1970. He passed on February 1, 2000. She was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, NJ. Dorothea is survived by four children: Francis B. Nelson, Jr., wife Jo Ann, of Jacksonville, Illinois, Nancy Nelson Forsberg of Somerset, NJ, Catherine E. Nelson of Somerset, NJ, William H. Nelson, M.D., wife Jan Gehorsam, of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Grandchildren: Karl Forsberg, D.C., of Reno, Nevada, Francis B. Nelson III, wife Audra, of Jacksonville, Illinois, Logan Forsberg, wife Jen, of Reno, Nevada, Marguerite Smith, husband Dennis, of Springfield, Illinois, Leah Nelson of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Sarah Nelson of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Great Grandchildren: Dorian Forsberg, Max Nelson. She was the dear sister of: the late Florence Palmieri, Bernice Lynch of Bath, NY, John H. Traynor, Jr., wife Arline, of Westfield, NJ, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Private burial will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Directors, Westfield, NJ.
