Doris Marion Mcgrath

Doris Marion McGrath, (nee Hatch) age 82 of Cranford, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort, PA. Doris' Life Celebration will begin at 3:00PM Friday May 17, 2013, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave, Cranford, where her visitation will continue until 7:00PM Friday. Pre-deceased by her father Harry Augustus Hatch, her mother Caroline Christine Michel and a son Stephen Jesse McGrath She is survived by her son, Thomas (Anna) McGrath of Springfield, NJ and her daughters Eileen (Gene) Benner of Kunkletown, PA and Mary (Michael) Vath of Easton, PA. Also surviving is a sister, Joan Jacobus of Little Falls, NJ and four grandchildren, Nicolas, Kate and Michael Benner and Emma Lee McGrath. Born in Paterson, NJ and a graduate of Belleville High School, Doris lived in Cranford, NJ for the past 50 years. With many performances in local community theatre, she loved to sail, travel and was an avid gardener and a longtime member of the Green Thumb Garden Club of Cranford, NJ. At the time of her retirement in 1998 she had been employed by the Chubb Insurance Corporation as a computer programmer for 25 years.
