Daniel Webster Gillan

Obituary Daniel Webster Gillan, 82, of Cranford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11th 2014, at Overlook Hospital, Summit, New Jersey. Left to cherish his memory is Nancy Gillan, wife of twenty eight years, and step-son Jay Roberts, his wife Yvette, and their daughter Alyssa Roberts. Daniel also raised three grandchildren, Megan, Jackie, and Beth Lodge. Daniel was a great-grandfather to Kelsea and Ayden Rizzo, Carter Lodge, and Collin Tuohy. Dan worked for many years as the manager of the service department for Mercedes Benz in Elizabeth. He grew up in Genesoe, New York where his love of Syracuse basketball and football stemmed from. Dan loved to be outside whether it was working on cars or boats, going fishing, or just taking care of his garden and yard. He also loved antiquing and frequented garage sales. He enjoyed taking bike rides, and spending time with his family. Daniel Gillan was humble, selfless, and genuine. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 21st 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church located at 108 Eastman Street in Cranford, New Jersey.
