CHARLES A. HALLER Retired Westfield Police Officer Charles Adam Haller, 71, of Westfield, died Sunday May 25, 2014. Charles' Life Celebration will be 2-4 and 7-9PM Thursday May 29th, at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield. His Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM Friday May 30, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 315 First St., Westfield. Interment will follow in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Born in Rahway, to the late Charles W. and Elizabeth Miller Haller, Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Westfield High School, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Air Force. He was a police officer for many years with the Town of Westfield Police Department. In later years, he served as a school crossing guard for the Township of Cranford Police Department. He was active with the Retired Policemen's and Firemen's Association Union Somerset County Local #3, Cranford, and the Police Benevolent Association, PBA Local #90, Westfield. Charles was also a member of the VFW Post 2230 Kenilworth, American Legion Post #3 Westfield, and the Deustcher Club, Clark. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Claudia Cagnassola Haller, sister: Elizabeth Haller, two nephews: James Dumont, and Dennis Foley.
