Brian W. Sharkey

Brian William Sharkey, 69 of Forked River, NJ passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Brian was born on December 4, 1950 in Bayonne, NJ to his parents, the late John and Theresa Sharkey. He graduated from Jersey City State College in 1974 with a BS degree in Mathematics. On July 31, 1976 he married the love of his life, Judy.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his three beloved children, Lauren, Brian, and Renae, and his daughter-in-law Emily, and son-in-law, Jake. He is also survived by his brother John and his sister Joanie, and was predeceased by his brother, Charlie.

Brian was a selfless man with many titles – a kind and caring husband and father, a talented handyman and avid traveler, and most importantly, the best PB&J sandwich maker and Christmas cookie baker.


Visitation will be on Monday, September 14 from 3pm to 7pm at the Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford. Funeral service will be at 10am Tuesday, September 15 at St. Michael's in Cranford. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Brian's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Animal Rescue League of Boston.
