Betty Schenck

Betty Hanshew Schenck passed away on June 23 in Venice, Florida. She was born on July 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Marjorie and Frank Hanshew. Betty grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, attended the local schools and graduated from Skidmore College. An accomplished artist, she became an art teacher and for many years was the head of the Art Department at Westfield High School until her retirement. Betty and her late husband, Leslie Schenck, PhD., spent summers at their home in Mountainside, NJ, and winters at their home in Englewood, Fl. Betty will be missed by her devoted caregiver, Beverley Yhap, Beverley's loving family, and her many friends.

Graveside services will be held on July 18 at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Memorial donations may be made to Skidmore College, Attn: Office of Advancement, 815 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
